FAQs

  • When will you open?

Our beautiful building is in need of some TLC before we will be able to answer this question with a set date! We are working with contractors, architects, and designers to build out a plan for construction and building updates. It is important to us and our investors that we restore and update this space carefully and intentionally. Once we have a set open date, we will share it via social media and our website!

  • Will you have a full bar?

We will not have a full bar to start. We will offer imported and domestic beers, cocktails, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages that will be available via self-service tap! We will also offer non-alcoholic bottled beverages and juices so that there’s always something for the whole family.

  • What does “Rackets” mean?

During the early 1900s, citizens of growing communities depended on stores to supply needs that couldn’t be grown, raised, or made at home. One of the most intriguing stories to all ages was the general merchandise store, or “Racket Store”. The Racket Store was a popular emporium of trade operated in the early 1900s where the community came to shop, socialize, and enjoy its various offerings. Our building’s history as a Racket Store inspired the name “Rackets Tap House” because we look forward to being a hub for community gathering and offering “a little bit of everything” just as the original Racket Store served this community before.

  • Will you only have beer?

Not a beer person? We will also serve ciders, seltzers, cocktails, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages via self-service tap! We will also offer non-alcoholic bottled beverages and juices so that there’s always something for the whole family.

  • What is a self-service tap?

Self-service taps allow you to choose, sample, and pour your own drink(s). These taps will include Kansas beers, non-alcoholic beverages, and cocktails, all accessible to you via preloaded keycards available by request. For more information on the system that Rackets will feature, please click here!

  • What food will you have?

Rackets will offer single-serving-sized fresh foods, including dips, charcuterie boards, snack mixes, and more! These menu items will rotate and change as we get to know our customer base and as different foods are in and out of season. We will offer fresh, Kansas-made snack foods that pair wonderfully with our Kansas-made wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Our full menu will be available when we open.

  • Will you brew your own beers?

In our early stages, we will serve domestic and imported beers with an emphasis on Kansas brews. We will eventually have our own in-house beer!
